Tgv deletes (opinions)

soo, im in a situation now that this may be a good time to do this upgrade.

My only concern is going to be how much of a negative effect does this have when you are trying to smog your car?

and does anyone have any power results pre delete and after?

Thanks

None because they're hidden and your average smog tech wont know the difference. you can check off the code on your tune via street tuner from AP or Romraider whichever you use.

Power results of all the pnpd items list as 1% each so negligible really. Its just a flapper that opens up when the car is warm anyway.

I was also kinda wondering how much these affected emissions at startup. I have the pnp'd grimmspeed tgv deletes, but added a lot of parts when I got tuned, so I couldn't tell you before and after numbers. I say get them.

I have TGV deletes and passed smog with flying colors

ps. ALWAYS let you car fully warm up before driving it with the deletes, and be sure your car is up to temp before smog and you will pass no doubt. and if you fail, its not a result of the deletes.

what he said. I passed no prob with deletes. Only thing you have to do is run a stock DP.

I have the plastic cosworth tgv's... they are sweet. They help keep heat down in the intake.

To the guys passing smog with these do you have the rod and motors still hooked up to fool the car into thinking they are still functioning? or are you just clearing the codes with the accessport? I might need to flash back to the stock map for smogging and I imagine the codes would resurface then right?

No all the rods and sensors are gone. Have your tuner turn off the CEL's. You'll have no problems.

Your suggesting I should run an altered base stock map from the tuner, unless I'am misunderstanding you. But when I flash back to stock and unmarry the accessport then the cells will come back right? or am I missing something here?

Would like to do this mod, just trying to think ahead on how the smogging every 2 years would work for me and if I would need to uninstall the tgv deletes if i ever want to sell the car because of cells hanging around. Thanks

Motive Autowerks Composite TGV group buy from TiC - NASIOC

If you are considering doing the TGV Deletes then you may want to consider that Turn in Concepts is doing a Group Buy currently on the new Composite ones from Motive Autowerks.

I am not sure how those composite ones compare to something that would be Ported & Polished like the Grimmspeed ones though. Perhaps less heat transfer with those, but at the same time I would think you would want to be more careful with these Composite ones when installing them so as not to over tighten them and crack them.
