Theyre trained for these situations, therefore I expect them to handle it better than this. She could have fractured her hip or had cardiac issues... shes 72 years old and he couldnt diffuse the situation better?? ...come on.

Is it really that hard to say, "Yes, sir. Thank you, sir," and be on with the rest of your day?
Hmm... no, I think I'll be a jackass and get tazed today... then lie about it later. That said, how hard would it be to just cuff a 72 yo grandma? On the other hand, if I was a cop, I guess I would just have to assume everyone has a gun and is going to shoot me.

No.
Treat pediatrics like pediatrics, adults as adults, and geriatrics as geriatrics.

the officer did warn her multiple times to step back and she refused, what else could he have done execpt maybe use physical force which would probably injure her more than a taser. also you never know it is texas, grandma could have been packing heat!

What a piece of ****.
He could have just let her go. He already had video documentation of the stop and everything that occured, including her refusing to sign the ticket. Had he not escalated a non-incident, it never would have became an incident.
Either way, tazing an old lady is the sign of someone who needs to get hit by a truck...but not killed...and then spend many, many months ****ting himself in a body cast. Throw in the loss of a job, retirement, and insurance and it should work out ok.

I didn't post that with regaurds to getting away with breaking the law because of her age, merely that the officer need remember that he is physically dealing with a geriatric woman and that he can't treat her like younger adults.
Don't let her get away with breaking the law, but don't break her in the name of the law.
