compare what would have happened if the cop didnt have the taser. he would have bummed-rush her.
possibly breaking a few bones so he could subdue her and then slamming her to the ground or the car so he can then handcuff her.
the taser is meant to stop the body in an instant so they fall down for a few seconds. enough time to handcuff the suspect.

i'm sorry but if a cop can't subdue a 72 year old woman without a taser, that is pretty sorry. his mistake was pulling out the taser and threatening her with it in the first place. once you threaten her with it and she doesn't comply, you probably do it just on principle. makes for trigger happy scenarios. sure he could have possibly hurt her if she resisted arrest...hypothetically. but she could have had a heart attack from the taser...hypothetically. yeah she was acting all unruly, but damn, taker her down the old fashioned way. you know his friends are giving him **** for not being able to take a grandma down. 
ohh man i forgot about that guy, the student that got taserd at john kerry speach.

Its a tossup, what if she had a pacemaker or something. How many videos have we seen of people being killed by tasers? Granted that most of them are on drugs, but anyone who's spoken to old people, they seem like they are on drugs 24/7 anyway so Beezy's lucky she didn't die, or something.
I would have tried to arrest her first, if she struggled way to much where I fear breaking her somehow, I'm gonna tase her.
Either way, I'm not losing sleep over her being Tased, she deserved it.
