Texas cops don't mess around; 72 year old grandma tasered (Video)

Cliff notes: Texas cop tasers 72 year old great-grandmother after she refuses to cooperate during a routine traffic stop, which she denies without knowledge of the video footage.

I say the cop was justified in his actions.

Is it really that hard to say, "Yes, sir. Thank you, sir," and be on with the rest of your day?

Hmm... no, I think I'll be a jackass and get tazed today... then lie about it later. That said, how hard would it be to just cuff a 72 yo grandma? On the other hand, if I was a cop, I guess I would just have to assume everyone has a gun and is going to shoot me.

she got what she deserved. She was noncompliant with the officer, when she was in the wrong, and then was putting herself and him in danger.

agreed. because she's not actually "old". she has that benajmin button disease, so technically she's underage driving, and living in america. therefore, deserves to be tazered.

^ now that's a reasoned argument.

I had the same thought about just cuffing her. However, given the physical condition of a person that age, he could have stood a much greater chance of unintentionally hurting her during the struggle. Tasering to incapacitate than cuffing could have been a safer option, at least IMHO. I highly doubt that was an easy decision either way.

not to play devils advocate but i think he could have just as easily pinned her down (seeing how he effortlessly pusheher aside).

Heck, if I were a cop I would have tasered her twice.
