synthetic grass

Anyone has a hookup on material or a contractor who installs synthetic grass?

I work for an architecture company and we spec it. We used FieldTurf* and they have their own team that installs it.

I'll check them out. It's for the backyard and we are getting a dog soon so that is also a factor.

fake grass is better than what some people in socal did haha. these people that live on the same block as my great aunt put little rocks on the front lawn and then painted them green. They said they wanted the front of their house to look better and be green. from a distance it looked like grass and lol I asked my aunt one day why is their lawn so green? then I asked if they just water a ton cus most of the other houses where brown grass. She laughed and said go look for yourself.

back on topic though.. I wouldn't mind doing what you are looking into mostly because of the water shortage going on. Plus having a green lawn year around and not have to cut the grass weekly. My only problem would be I have dogs and wouldn't that be a big mess to clean the pee and poo off of it? Do you just hella hose it down since the pee will soak through it and the thought of hot stinky urine doesn't sound so hot haha.

yeah we paint our dead grass too

so i was looking into this and there is one company that has holes in the turf so the dog pee can soak into the ground and not stay on top of it

I'm thinking of synth grass too... no water, low maintenance.

But I'm worried, as Gibz, of dog poop.

haha do you really? I shouldn't be too shocked after seeing the painted rocks

ahh I see.. I guess that's cool but still if you rinse it and it goes through the holes what about all the moisture its adding? In the heat yeah some will dry up but I would think it would get really hot and sweat then create mold on the bottom side of the fake grass.

You just scoop the dog poop and spray it clean. It breathes well as I understand it. I'm interested in installing it myself in my back yard.

hmm was also thinking of just making a dog run area for their duty spots and then when you do the artificial grass you wouldn't have to worry about it.
