Surfboard hitting an STi at 60mph = *ugh*
So I'm driving to work this morning up highway 1 in Pacifica and this dude is to the right of me in the slow lane and ahead of me a bit. I'm just chilling, listening to a CD when before I know it this huge fscking object is suddenly flying towards my car. It's a damn surfboard! It somehow detatched from the roof of his VW Vanagon and flew directly at me. I tried to swerve but it happened too fast. It hit square on my hood. After I regained composure I realized that he didn't notice what had happened, so I pulled up along side him and waved at him to get his attention. He looked at me unknowingly, and then I pointed 'up' with my finger. For a split second he thought about what I was doing and then raised his hands to his face in an "Oh f@ck" gesture. He pulls over, I pull over, and we exchange information. He was really cool about the whole thing. I took a few pictures while I was still pulled over on the side of the road. I called my insurance company and reported it, and about an hour after that, the guy's insurance company calls me and lets me know that he contacted them as well. So it seems everything will be ok, but the adjuster is coming out tomorrow, so I can't attend the Ring Around the Bay that I was planning on going to. This is very important, anyway. Here are the pictures. Notice that a chunk of his surfboard wedged itself under my hood.

Ok guys. Well, if I go that route and get a CF hood, I'd like to know of a great place to take the car to that will be able to fix whatever damage this thing caused and put in the new hood for me. Also, do they have CF hoods for the 04's available anywhere?

sorry that happened. Good thing it didnt go throught the windshield. Also, You shouldnt really call your insurance company. It's his job to report it to HIS insurance company. That way your rates dont go up. But oh well, better safe than sorry I guess.
