super hard stalling..

this morning my brother moved my car out of the driveway so he could get his car out.. he parked it across the street, and he took his car out the driveway and left.. so i went out there to repark my car back in the driveway.. because the otherside of the street is a elementry school.. and theres no parking on school hours, and i dont wanna get another parking ticket.. so i started my car as normally . depress clutch and start and let off clutch.... and banngg!
it stalled vigorously! not knowing that he left it in first gear..like who leaves it in firstgear?? while in park on perfectly leveled street...? i was pressty pissed off.. proceed to start the car again and parked it back in drive way.. got back in the house went back to sleep...

soooo like how bad is that for a car to stall like that?? its been buggin me all day.. poor subiee...

Your Subie is fine. You're not the first owner of your car right? Then this probably isn't the first time it has been stalled like that.

No worries, you car won't fall apart tomorrow. I always leave my car in gear, whether it's on a flat area or on a hill.

When I was in college, some idiot didn't put his rustang in gear and forgot to pull his e-brake when he went to class, and because I have amazing luck, his car rolled down a small incline and hit my car.

I've done that in traffic once or twice. No harm done.

I never leave my car in gear unless I'm on a hill though.

I never leave my car in gear unless on a hill just like a lot of people have said. I have stalled a few times leaving it in 3rd instead of down to first at a stop. DERP

I put it in first as habit though since where I live I need to.

I always leave it in gear no matter where I park, except I leave it in second.

yeah i usually let my car idle for abit because it was cold in the morning..
the idle was kinda high.. and the stall was like an explosion.. i littterely...
and dont u guys worry about someone hitting ur car behind while in parked.. and if ur cars in gear it might break the gears?

If you get hit hard enough to damage the gears, then it probably wasn't going to matter. If you live somewhere where your car is likely to get hit maybe, but I've never had it happen.
