Suggestion: Romantic dining in/around SF
Hey there, I figured I'll turn to bay area iclubbers for some suggestion to romantic restaurants that I can take the lady for her b-day. So let me know, thanks!

How much are you willing to spend?
Masa's was great when I went, but that was back when Ron Siegel was still cooking there
Jeanne D'Arc has a nice vibe, and the food ain't half bad either.
Boulevard is nice, but can be a little lively at times so I dunno if you'd mind that or not.
That's all I can think of for now.

not sure if you ever heard of the restaurant called skate. its a restaurant off that is built ontop of water and when you sit near the windows you see the water under you. pretty good food and not crazy pricey. you can also see part of the golden gate bridge i believe and the bay bridge and a walk way that leads towards the middle of the water

thats at berkerley right? always see that place but never been there yet.
waterfront restaurant is great on embarcadero in SF. you can tell them what is the dinner for and have them put roses or something on the table. basically make special request. been there twice, one time for friend's bday another time for anniversary. not SO SO expensive. like $60 for 2 people i think.

i think so. my mom took me there to eat for a grad dinner when i graduated from wyotech. but there steak was bomb. i think any restaurant with a waterfront scenery is a perfect romantic place to any women/men to dinner

It depends on your budget but let me list off a few places for you.
Low/small budget: Your best bet here, make your own dinner, pack it up in a basket you get at big lots for a few bucks, and head up into the hills or down to the beach. Trust me, this will impress the hell out of a date.
Mid range budget: we are blessed in the bay area with tons of restaurants. However most of the 'romantic' ones tend to be a bit $$$. In the mid range I can suggest Tapas in the north part of the city, and I can not remember its name right now but there is a restaurant near pier 39, on the 2nd floor of a building that overlooks the bay.
High range budget: There is only one place that springs to mind here...Alexanders in San Jose. Perhaps one of the best steak places I have ever eaten (and trust me Ive been all over the US). The "chef's table" is the experience you want. It costs $250-$1000 a person, however you are sat in the kitchen, and the head chef himself cooks for you "iron chef" style. While it sounds less than romantic, I and my partner both found it to be quite so. After all its an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.

If you want to travel to St. Helena the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) is a great place to eat and the food is awesome! The drive is great, you get a nice Sat. drive through the vineyards and then go and eat!

oh yea, there is also this spot in SF called Zazzies. Its on Cole street between Carl and Parnassus. Its a small place but the setting is really chill and the food is hella good. They have a heated patio behind the restaurant too

If you want a romantic setting while trying something different.
I vote for The Melting Pot in San Jose.
Ask them to sit you at "Lovers Lane", and you will have an intimate seating for two. I've sat here before, and it feels like you and your lady are the only two people at the restaurant.
Romantic, intimate, and secluded.

If you like Fondue - Since The Melting Pot has already been mentioned - My friends have highly recommended Simply Fondue in Livermore (I know not anywhere close to SF) - http://simplyfonduelivermor.reachloc...26ei%253DUTF-8
You could also go to Cha Cha Cha's - http://www.cha3.com/ - I believe the one on Haight Street is the same one that Paul Walker & Jordana Brewster were supposedly eating at in The Fast & The Furious. I've been to the other one. It seems that just about every girl I know that has eaten there has this on their list of the Top 5 Restaurants.
If you do go to Cha Cha Cha's, I recommend the: Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Pork Quesadilla, Fried New Potatoes, Sauteed Mushrooms & Warm Spinach Salad. All of them are VERY tasty.
