They wont let you look usually unless they know you, or you arent sure what you need and then they escort you out to look.

Lots of times, but not in the past few months.

Honestly, they dont really care about walk in customers... Most all of their business (and profit) comes from other companies/mechanics looking for parts. They get calls from all over the country, and even international stuff too...

I usually wait til I have a few things I need, or bring someone with me looking for stuff, or if im desperate and its something I cant get from anywhere, or cheaply for new, I go there.
