Subaru recalls nearly 634,000 vehicles

Subaru recalls nearly 634,000 cars and SUVs: Associated Press Business News - MSN Money

Subaru is recalling nearly 634,000 cars and SUVs in the U.S. because lights beneath the doors can overheat and cause fires.

The recall affects all Outback and Legacy cars from model years 2010 and 2011. Also included are Tribeca SUVs from 2006 through 2012 and Forester SUVs from 2009 through 2012. Subaru says the Tribecas and Foresters were sold before January of 2012.

Me either. I figured if I wanted it I'd add it myself for $40. Saw a write up on it.

Probably why I didn't get a recall. I'm more worried about how insanely clunky the motor sounds and stinks like burnt oil all the time.

Basically, one of the wires is vulnerable to igniting due to exposure to moisture.

Waterproofing issue?

I didn't have the door sill lights but i am so happy to be rid of my Tribeca due to major electrical issues throughout the car.

What'd ya get, an XT? At least ya don't gotta worry about possible oil consumption like I do. As for the puddle light deal, well, honestly I saw what Subaru offers and just figured when the time comes I'd be more likely to install rock crawler lights instead as those are designed way better IMHO.
