Question Stock WRX smog emissions

Hey, does anyone know what the emissions are on a stock wrx, and on a stock 1.8l L coupe?

this would be really helpful stuff, thx

I assume u mean the cut points the state holds out as pass/fail standards???.....The ONLY pass or fail gases are HC/CO.......if ur using the dyno NOX is added into the mix as well....

Most new cars tend to put out low emissions... maybe 10-60 PPM of HC's and .01-.30 % CO..and NOX also tend to be low, below 500 PPM...........but a WRX will never go on the dyno cuz its AWD......so NOX r not measured....
On those cars that can't go on a dyno, we use TSI(two speed idle) testing, and revert back to functional EGR testing if the car is so equipped.

yeah took my wifes car to the smog dyno today and the guy told me I wouldnt have to do that with mine since it was AWD, w00t! :banana:

good to know, i need to find a way to make a version four sti engine pass california smog standards in a 96 L

Hope this helps, I just took the test a few weeks ago.

Idle Emission Test Results: 02 WRX

idle rpm: 842 Co2%: 8.80 o2%: 8.40
HC(PPM) MAX: 100 AVE: 17 MEAS: 10
CO(%) MAX: 1.00 AVE: 0.00 MEAS: 0.00
Result: PASS

2500RPM: 2412 Co2%: 13.80 o2%: 1.70
HC(PPM) MAX: 130 AVE: 12 MEAS: 8
CO(%) MAX: 1.00 AVE: 0.10 MEAS:0.01
Result: PASS

Smog is weird, my 88 supra that spit out a little dark smoke when u revved it passed smog with flying colors, but then a bunch of other cars wont. i never understood how i got that car to pass lol
