I am not saying the original poster is a n00b, but some n00bs tend to use the redundant terms "turbo WRX", "turbo STI", "WRX turbo", or "STI turbo" when describing their cars.

For the benefit of some of our recently-joined club members (like myself ), adding the quotes and putting them in the proper place adds clarification and makes all the difference in the world.
That is the stupidest thing I ever heard of...

Anyways nice numbers Sean I'm jealous now.

That's why the AVC-R is sitting on my shelf ready to go in my car for Mike to tune with the new tarby.
Yes, this is also true in reference to an EBC which uses a solenoid for pressure regulation. While EBC's and 3-port solenoids can work significantly better than the stock boost control system, a good MBC will still out perform either of these.

EBC's like the AVC-R can certainly be made to work better than the stock boost control system, but in general the stock ECU can do pretty much the same job with the use of a 3-port solenoid. The only major limitation with the OEM ECU's boost control system is its MAP sensor which imposes an upper limit on how much boost the ECU can accurately meter and control. Cobb is actually coming out with a MAP sensor ugprade which should raise this limitation and allow the stock boost control system to be used even with higher boost levels.

Thanks

Yeah dude, you must be as smart as a box of rocks if you really think he was trying to say "stock" *pause* turbo sti. Then went on to list all his mods

"stock turbo" is well known to pretty much everyone on here and all the other suby boards, ie how much power you can hit running the peashooter vf39

Just accept that you flamed for no reason and carry on

Sean-What fuel were you on? C16 or 100 octane?

Nope, we use a MAF just like you guys.

Congrats on the time Downsti. That's a nice trap for that turbo.
