Pretty lame that people find it necessary to uncover who the Stig is and ruin it for other people. The whole point of him being unknown is that people base the performance of the cars on the cars themselves. If you have the same person driving all the cars, the times will be consistent and based on the performance of the driver. Now they are going to have to get a new Stig and it will screw up the lap times.
So to whoever figured out his identity, way to go, hope you feel good about yourself now.

ClifNotes: Collins, The Stig, wrote a book of memoirs, revealing HIMSELF as The Stig.

pretty much he wanted to get money of his book thinking it will sell better if people will know he's the stig and he wanted promotional money stuff. Although now that he has revealed himself they will most likely go to a different stig like someone else mentioned grey stig who knows what color but him outing himself against the wishes of the producers doesn't bode well for him keeping his job and getting promotional gigs.

The way I've calculated, the next logical progression after black stig and white stig is brown stig.
Seriously though, first episode of the coming season should be entertaining.

My bad, I didn't read that article, I read a different one yesterday talking about someone figuring it out based on the fact that he was being paid by them. I will try to find it and link to it. If he revealed it, shame on him, I am surprised there wasn't a NDA in his contract with Top Gear.
