Stealing Catalytic Converters?

My dad had the cat off of his 99 Tacoma stolen last night. I guess they ripped off the neighbors too. I guess they are worth a lot of money as scrap?

Yeah depending on where they're worth between 50-100 bucks. Best way is to have the cats welded in, my truck's cat almost got stolen, toyota trucks are common targets for thieves.

It's common place at the ACE Train station in Tracy. Any vehicle high enough to get under quickly and cut. Trucks and suv's.

Someone stole the cat off my Dad's pick up a few months back. I bought a replacement and had them weld it in.

People have been stealing copper wire from live street lamps and high-power lines, copper-cored RG-6 cable from cable trucks, and aluminum guard rails from highways.

People will steal anything they think they can sell for money.
