Autzone rents spring compressors for free -- but there isn't an autozone around here. I could buy some for $35 but that just sucks.

Anyone have spring compressors that I could borrow in the Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin area? If not, does anyone have ideas on where I could rent them in the area?

If you live near livermore, pleasanton, dublin then there has to be an autozone within 15 minutes of your house.

Nearest autozone is in freemont, almost in milpitas. That is a good 30 minute drive + returning it is out of the way too.

Yes, you should be aware of the fact that you will not need them. Our springs are under very minimal load, so when the hats are removed there is only a quick decompression of about an inch. Point it away from you, and there is nothing to worry about.

yup, just like Chris said above....you dont need a compessor in order to take the springs off...

You are use a breaker bar as well, just be careful

all you need is an air impact gun, as shown in above vid.

actually, I've used the above method on JDM STi takeoffs too, and that was more hairy, so you will be fine on stockers...

I'm not worried about removal. I'm more worried about getting the new springs on.

The video does show some weak spring compression though. I probably could do that by hand.

Does this work for front and rear?
