I have an Escort SR7. I've been seeing the hits late at night (around midnight).

a rader detector isn't gonna do you any good when they are on your tail pacing you

It has already done well enough to avoid tickets at 580 and 680 though.

uhh, because I don't speed.

which is why you look in your mirrors... at least I do

crown vics are easy to make out at night in your mirrors... the camero I'm not to good at (at least I haven't seen enough yet)

Impalas are also easy to pick out.

Honestly though, I don't speed often. My radar detector is used more often to find grocery stores than to find speed traps. And 02BlackWRX has a point.

i'm not saying detectors are the solution to allow you to speed. it's just an added protection, if you want to call it that. i scan my mirrors and on ramps (as i pass them by) for CHP, but i'm hoping that my detector would at least be useful for situations like these.

The SR7 is a pretty decent device as well

It does detect grocery stores if I'm pointed right at them. Other than that, it is superb for avoiding false positives.

Talking

these few months, cars are moving 60mph average on the freeway....
(a year back, the average was like 80....)

speaking of camaro, I saw one once when I was going to school at 7am in the morning.
I thought what I saw was a ricey camaro, with big stickers one the sides,(Turns out it was the CHP stickers......) going 80+ in the fast lane...

chp should post where the speed traps are so that people dont speed, that would work.

however they wouldnt get all that money from tickets ;( so they probably wont do that.

Maybe that's their new plan. They lull you in to false confidence only to spring the trap on you when you least expect it!
