Spears and Munsil Calibration Disc Thread
Rules:
Post if you want to get this disc so you can Calibrate you TV closer to proper settings.
Bluray player is REQUIRED.
Tips can be found here and also on www.spearsandmunsil.com
I will keep a running list on Post #2, included who's done with the disc, and who's got it. Now, Please, be sure to let me know if you've got it, or are done with it. I expect you to contact the next person in line, and send them the disc. First class mail works fine, it's like $2-3 at most.
With the S&M Bluray disc you'd use only 3 patterns:
1) Contrast pattern - Adjust contrast and brightness so that all white bars are visible at the bottom, and black bars 17-24 are visible at the top
2) HD Color Bars - Look through the color filter provided, match the filtered blue to the blue.
Incorrect:
Correct:
3) Sharpness Pattern - Black lines are to not have white haloing on the edges, reduce sharpness until this happens.
If you are on any pattern page, and are wondering what to do, or need help, press the ENTER button your bluray player's remote for a help screen.
Basically it.

Technically, Hue is not a concern on digital displays. Well it is, but, it's tends not to be off. In many displays you cannot even adjust hue, even if you wanted to. But Hue used to be a big deal with CRTs, but with fixed pixel displays, don't see it being off too too much, if ever at all.
