So who has SBC DSL and how do you like it??
When I moved into my apartment a few months ago, there wasn't much else available, but SBC yahoo so I went ahead and hooked it up. Ever since then, it's been acting like dialup. It would go down for a few minutes sometimes and sometimes for a few hours. It's been pretty flakey and I know of some others who are experiencing the same thing. This is in the San Jose area. I'm contemplating whether or not 2 switch to cable cuz this is getting ridiculous. SBC Yahoo sux major a$$ around here. Just needed 2 vent.

I have SBC Yahoo DSL and the only problem I had was the initial service was not turned on. It took a couple days after what they stated, but after that, it's been pretty flawless *knock on wood*. I have friends though, who have problems with SBC, so I guess it just depends.

SBCYAHOO DSL sucks, I had it when I lived in vacaville last year and it was slow as **** and it always disconnected itself.
I Have cable @ my new place in orinda and it is a LOT better, plus you don't have to "log on" to it, its a TRUE always on connection.

i have sbc and i am having no problem very fast, but i pay a lot...
sbc offers different speed dsl services and i have the fastest one... because we have 3 comp. in the house, we need more bandwidth.

I had SBC DSL service before and it was ok. It wasn't the best but it was bearable. I was having the same issues you are having now and it was because I was further out from the loop then I should be. Anyway, Comcast is having a special. If you tell them you are switching from DSL (of any kind) to Comcast service, you would only pay $29.99/month for a year. So you may want to consider it. I just switched last week and loving it. I'm averaging anywhere from 2.5 mbps to 3.5 mbps...

I've had DSL for probably 6 or 7 years now...
It's been fairly stable for me, I've just recently upgraded to their Expert package(1.5mbits to 6mbits down/ 384 up) I'm getting 4660 down / 504 up... not bad for about 40 bucks a month...
