So who got windows 7?
I got it and love it. I used the beta back in the day so I had to get it upon final release. This is an outstanding OS in comparison to the passed versions of windows. It's very graphical but doesn't soak up all your memory.
So far so good with Windows 7 Ultimate. I just wish I would have saved all my bookmarks before reinstalled :-/ I had SO much stuff saved that I used on a daily or weekly basis. Oh well.
Windows7 is everything you expected Vista to be and more.
Also I have an unopened copy of Windows7 Professional Upgrade (I believe you need to have Vista installed already to use it) for sale for $120 obo. I decided against Professional and went with Ultimate.

$199 retail.
Anyone else install Windows 7 and have some feed back? I truly believe if you are running Vista then you NEED to upgrade.

I plan to upgrade to 7, probably in a couple of weeks. I've got two IT friends that highly recommend this OS, and they know how I hate Vista.
....yes, my personal PC is still on Windows XP

I have Windows 7 Ultimate its great. No downsides so far, its far easier and more reliable than any other OS I've used in the past. As far back as Windows 3.11 Workgroups to the lastest Vista 64 bit.

Home Premium is $30 for .edu emails. Is Home Premium worth it? I never "downgraded" to Vista from XP, and XP has been pretty stable overall, and I'm still curious about compatibility with 7. So, would it be worth going from XP Pro to 7 Home Premium?

I've been using for awhile now. I get it free with a technet subscription.
Home Premium doesn't have some of the graphical features are Pro/Ult. (Preview window off task bar for example)
I love it so far. But then again, i was using w2k and xp just fine before 7.

x64 windows 7 is the only OS i will use other than mac OSX. I never thought i'd actually like a windows platform again but this is way better than vista and much more secure than XP. Drivers for X64 can be tricky but ive figured it out ok so far.

Yeah, we have seen some printer issues and some apps that dont run, but for the most part, everything works well and it is so much faster than 32 bit Win7; which was SO MUCH faster than Vista and XP.

Win 7 is good stuff... Its what Vista should have been in the first place. I got Vista working pretty well after a couple hours of playing around with config, but win 7 seems to work pretty well out of the box. Microsoft finally did something right?
