SO- when is a good day for the EARTHQUAKE DRIVE? (Hwy 25/198)
Sounds like May 1 and maybe May 8th are already taken with other events.
When is a good day for most? Probably a 4-5 hr drive through the Diablo Range down southeast of Hollister? Originally we were thinking of driving all the way thru Parkfield and down to Cambria on the coast, but I get the feeling the drive was too long.
Here's the revised plans
101 S to Hwy 25 S
Hwy 25 S thru Hollister and past Pinnacles
turn onto Los Gatos/Coalinga Rd
follow it SE for about 50 miles into Coalinga
Get on 198 west back to 25 N back into Gilroy
Take 101 N back to Bay Area
and stop for lunch/dinner or BBQ somewhere cool.
Dates??

I was thinking the same question yesterday! The months just fill up too fast.
Originally I was going to suggest doing the drive in two stages as a transit to and from the ITN rally on May 1st. Drive down Friday night and do the return leg coming home on Sunday. But you mentioned elsewhere that you have a camping reservation that w/e ...
May 8th is the PCA TSD, May 15th is the first SCCA Rally Cross of the season up at Thunderhill.
How about the w/e after that - May 22/23?!
For me, June looks good (so far) except for the last w/e when I will be in Nevada working an open road race ... www.openroadracing.com
You may just have to pick a w/e that suits YOU and hope other people can come too!!

Maybe May 22 or 23 will work. I have to check to see when the VW drags are, as my friend will be running his car and I'll be tuning it. It's the Sunday of the Mem. Day weekend.
Sure, I can pick a day that works for me, but the more the merrier

I can't remember which road it is, but on either Rt 25 or Los Gatos Road, just north of the junction with 198 is a sign that says ... "Twisty Roads next 38 miles"
These roads are just way too much fun
