Yea, if you wore a dress, I guess it wouldn't matter whether your underwear had a fly or not.

I wear a belt and I pull down the front. Even if I'm wearing slacks with a tucked in shirt I still pull down the front. But that could be cause I'm 6'4 and any tucked in shirt just barely gets tucked in so it's not really in the way of the junk. Damn shirt companies not making their shirts long enough for tall people.

I get ready for work in the dark while I am half asleep. I'm not going to turn the light on and wake my wife just to check for something that should be there in the first place.
