You can buy surpluss ammo online for much cheaper than you can get in any store. I remember something like 500 rounds for $220 or something

Man, that ain't bad at all if you consider a 500 box of surplus XM193 5.56 is just over $100.

They don't list it on either of their sites but you may want to check and see is AmmoMan.com or SurplusAmmo.com can get it for you.

If you guys do an order, let me know... we can save on shipping. (sometimes shipping is more than the ammo... lol.)

You might want to be careful shooting alot of NATO 5.56mm in that rifle. 5.56mm is NOT the same as commercial .223. It's hotter and the headspace is slightly different. Most civilian designed rifles like this one aren't chambered for 5.56 NATO and can't handle too much of the stuff.

If you're talking about the SU-16s that Brucelee and I have, they are actually chambered for 5.56. At least my CA model is; it says it on the side of the reciever. I believe the B model that brucelee has says .223 but it is still in reality chambered for the 5.56. I spoke to an engineer at Kel-Tec and according to him they put .223 on the recievers even though they were chambered for 5.56 becuase they felt that was the rating most consumers would be comfortable/familiar with. However they eventually changed to showing the true 5.56 rating on the C and CA models. Thanks for the heads up though. A kaboom wouldn't be pretty.

AP Hi velocity ammo?

A buddy of mine just got one of these. However, he can only get the low velocity rounds for it. I think there is a federal limitation on all the hi power AP stuff. Could be wrong though.

Does anyone know where you can get the real ammo for it? The stuff that came with it was this plastic tipped crap ammo. Basically making it a neat little pea shooter at best.
