IA does a ton of these. - can only speak for my experience. They are a good bunch. Have items in stock. If you blow it again they'll have one shipped out. They warranty parts and labor for one year (limited of course). Not trying to turn local business away, this was just the best option I found with the least turn around time.

thanks for all the input guys...i actually am going with speed element. I got quoted $2500 for a sti v7 RA gear set installed...they said they should receive the transmission in 3 weeks so hopefully my car can be up and running in a little over a month...Also I was thinking about going with IA but decided not to even though its a cheaper way I would not be able to go to a local shop to have them diagnose if something does go wrong after the install

The problem with going 6 speed is you REALLY gotta do your research, and really know that you've got parts that will fit. The most successful swaps I know of are people who bought a wrecked STI and swapped the drivetrain. That way they know for certain it works.

There are just a billion different combos of FDs, axle types, I think some 6 speeds are like the WRX having a 1.1 on the CD and others not, etc. etc.

Sorry about your luck but imo its only a matter of time with an 18g and meth! I think the RA gearset is a good choice, not too much money (relatively speaking) and if you end up selling the car you wont have to worry about the losing the investment of something really expensive (6-sp or PPG).

That said, are you going to keep this car for a long time? If so, I would go with PPG, that way you can use the car to its fullest (abuse the car without remorse). I mean the RA is strong but you still have to be a bit carefull. Personally, I would say no to the 6-speed....if you want one you might as well get an STi. Plus, like verc said above, it takes a lot of planning and parts. All in all, it all depends on how close you are with your car.

Good luck.

ppg unless the 6 speed is coming out of a wrecked car that a shop pulled or something.

i really dont know how long i want to keep the car...as of now im satisfied with the power im making and i think the RA gears should be strong enough for occasional spirited driving...if i were to get a hybrid setup with a bigger turbo im sure i would go for the ppg or 6 speed
