yeah, xkrazyasianx is looking for a stock trade as well. jakes tranny is pretty ****ed. it wont even drive in any of the other gears.

You have to rev match every downshift but who doesnt do that already?

Thanks. I just called them up its going to be around $2256 shipped. Are there other decent places I can get a new gear set for?

Don't forget your core exchange. It's cheaper than that... The problem with having it done locally, you end up paying out the nose for labor, and tax. You end up saving about 400-700 going this way....

It's going to depend on what you need the car for.

Mfactory has a new gearset out for road racing. If you have a lot of power than you'd get the PPGs and stay in 4th gear to high 120's traps.

And also what your FD is. If you know you're running 1/4 in the high teens you can swap to a 4.44 FD and decrease the top speed in every gear by 10%. That's what I have and it's pretty sweet

Is Jake doing the install himself?
The benefit of having it done locally is that if anything goes wrong, it can be rectified faster.

Full tranny upgrade = $2800, which includes oil, gasket(s), etc.

Paul, what kind of tranny would that 2800 be? Sounds like Jake should get on that, great price

well i blew up my tranny recently...and bought 1700$ RA gearset from vividracing and 500$ from gruppe-s (syncros and bearings) and me and my buddy just took out the tranny like for 2-3 hour...and paid 400 for local shop to do it ...and that 400 is actually when i won a jackpot in casino...so far i paid 2200 out the door...
