Wow I could be wrong.
Here it says 70% in front and any% in rear http://www.tintdude.com/atoh.html
Here it just says it can be installed http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc26708_5.htm
Here "sunscreening devices" can't be more than 35% http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc26708_2.htm (I know that's not tint)
This is probably what you want http://www.iwfa.com/iwfa/Law_Chart/S...aw%20Chart.htm
chart of all states, including CA, looks like 70% again. I could swear my friend said 20, but that was a few years ago. http://www.iwfa.com/iwfa/Law_Chart/S...aw%20Chart.htm
I love what the CHP site says
Can I put after-market tinting on the windows of my vehicle?
The main requirements for legal window tinting in California are:
"The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting.
If the rear window of a vehicle is tinted, the vehicle must have outside rearview mirrors on both sides.
The law prohibits any person from driving any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows, with certain limited exceptions.
However, legislation signed into law effective January 1, 1999, exempts from the above prohibition specified clear, colorless, and transparent material that is installed, affixed, or applied to the front driver and passenger side windows for the specific purpose of reducing ultraviolet rays. If, as, or when this material becomes torn, bubbled or otherwise worn, it must be removed or replaced."
They first say no, then yes lmao

I was thinking in terms of how dark the tint was... so yeah, 70% is to much (the way I was thinking, which was wrong)
My friends was fairly light in color, but was still tinted, so when he said 20%, that's how I looked at it.
By the law chart there, if "70%" is allowed, then 30% is allowed in the way I looked at it.
ok, does that sound confusing or what?

Long time no speak fellas!
In Santa Clara County, you can just pay the uncorrected fine. That is what I did, that is what Freddie did!
Now that I live in LA (Lower Alabama), I have my Evo running with an intake, and a 3" catless exhaust that I bought from Cal, I have no worries about CARB at all. CA can go to hell when it comes to the DMV and CARB!
EVO'S RULE!
Andy
PS: My other vehicle is a Bell 206B3 JetRanger (TH-67 Creek)

exactly
I know its hard to wait...I was the same way, asking Andy aka "BADWRX" everyday until the ticket came in the mail...and I was able to do what he said...pay the fine and be done!!
So, you will be able to find out exactly what you can do instead of us confusing you with different info
