I saw you driving the other day in Fremont (On Thornton by Sujus coffee...). There was an officer in the turn lane next to me, and you were going to opposite direction from us. He was TOTALLY scoping you out... Your car is pretty flashy man... sucks that we cant have flashy cars and live in the bay area.

No... they can pull you over if they see anything illigal, be it clear corner lights, etc.

they can even pull you over if they don't see anything. a cop can make up any reason for pulling you over.

Yeah, and the San Jose police deparment can even shoot you without any reasons apparently... they can make up reasons.

Too bad there are so few good cops.

Aww man Pete, I remeber seeing you w/ Mike tuning the car last week at Gruppe-S when I got my mounts done. So what are you gonna do? Keep FMIC and have stock turbo & exhaust?? Oh and if you need any help working on the car lemme know since you helped when I had to part out mine.

Not all FMIC are illegal. HKS offers CARB legal FMIC for a selection of vehicles. So you are wrong.

....Most application specific HKS Intercooler systems and upgrade kits are CARB exempt (CARB E.O. #D-186-21).

My understanding is that a FMIC can be smog legal in one of two ways:

1) It's original equipment on the vehicle (i.e. Neon SRT-4, Lancer Evolution).

2) It has a CARB Exemption Order Number. Even with this number, the part in question is only legal on the vehicle for which it was designed.

I guess we'll find out soon enough when WyldKardzWRX brings his vehicle before the State Referee station.
