I was having a car washed there yesterday. Some guys working on a friggin' huge camera array that faced north on El Camino caught my eye. Kept looking around and could not believe how many cameras total there are at the four corners of that intersection! I'm pretty sure there's more than 12 total.

I stand corrected on the location of the other camera; apparently I am totally blind...
There is a camera on Hickey (on the same side of Jack in the Box right across the Chevron) with the main sensor that take a picture of your rear license plate...and the mentioned camera on El Camino just around the turn taking pictures of the front of the car...

I did the same in San Mateo after the Hillsdale exit (101S) as your making a right onto Hillsdale. Of course my rolling stop was at 11pm when there were only a handful of cars on the road.
Luckily it was like the first month of operation or something so as a courtesy I just got a picture of me with a dumbass look on my face instead of a ticket.

They get your rear plate as well, both front and back which is why they have more the one camera pointing at the intersection.
The cameras wont nab you when you take a left turn on red... I've done it on accident a few times (when I had no plates, lol), due to the fact that people in front of you just slow down to almost a full stop and you're forced to remain in the intersection when it's still red... Why can't people turn without braking so much? I mean, a turn rated at 25mph and they are going 6mph.

Just saw the boatload of cameras at Westborough/Chestnut and El Camino Real intersection. Was waiting at the light and I saw several flashes go off for no reason lol
Maybe it's to act as a deterrent by letting people know there are cameras (cause I'm betting nobody reads the signs saying "Photo Enforced")
