I always forget to pay closer attention when I drive through the intersections, plus it doesn't help I am there pretty much only when it is dark out

i think some of those cameras just flash for nothing. the ones in front of millbrae bart flash all the time, even when there are no cars moving or in the intersection. i can't imagine that people are actually running red lights every single time i cross that intersection...

Are those the ones near the intersection with the Chevron? station and right near the Kragen?
If not, you should check out the 12 or so cameras in that intersection.

El Camino and Chestnut, SSF.

The one in Capitola on 41st ave had bugs for a long time after they installed it. It was giving people tickets for stopping at reds Then it was giving people tickets for making legal right-hand turns on red It seems they've finally fixed it, as it only goes off when the light has been red for at least a second and you run it.

3rd/Harrison in SF & Powell st/Christie in Emeryville. Those cameras pop at every light whether or not cars are moving/in the intersection. If theres nobody behind mem I just wait for the green. If I have ppl lined up behind me, I make sure I stop, hard 5 count then wait for someone else to start in the intersection b4 I go.

They have existed since the red light cameras were installed. My dad got nabbed a few years ago for this... He was going 10mph and didnt do a full stop so they sent him a ticket. My friend got nabbed last year also.
So watch out, always stop when going right on stop on right turn light!!

The cameras have sensors that can tell how fast you're going. The camera actually senses whether you come to a complete stop or not. Some of the cameras have sensors that are way too sensitive, hence all the flashes without receiving tickets. My buddy got one in Fremont. It had three pictures with time stamps to the second and the speed he was traveling in each pic. No way to fight that kind of evidence.

i've had my picture taken several times before already for making a right turn on certain streets thru fremont... i never received a ticket in the mail for them..... so i think it might just be the same as me... you did nothing wrong, but by simply crossing the line on a red, triggers the camera.

There's a right turn camera to catch those who do a "California Stop" at the intersection of Mowry and Cedar in Newark. (northbound on Cedar -> right turn on Mowry). I always come to a complete stop before the crosswalk, wait two seconds, and then make my turn. No tickets for me so far.
