Snowboard Setup Thread

I've noticed there's a whole bunch of snowboarders here, so I thought we should have a thread with everyone's setup. Include what you like/don't like about your gear. It'll be a good reference for people who are looking to get new stuff too.

Me: 02/03 Winterstick Severe Terrain 159 Board, 03/04 Drake Podium Bindings, 01/02 Northwave Reset Ultra Boots
Angles: +25front, -15back, ~15 forward lean

I like this setup almost all the time; the only exception is when I'm tired/lazy it gets rough because this board really demands to be riden fast. Otherwise it's hard to control. Also, the Drake binding baseplate I have has 'micro adjust' that sometimes adjusts itself...I'm gonna get some regular Drake baseplates as soon as I can.

1997 Burton A-Deck
- 145 (I'm 5'6")
- +14-15º F
- - 1º R
- Goofy

1998 Burton Freestyle bindings
1999 Burton Moto boots

I like this set up because it got me going for ~$400 total. Probably outdated by today's standards, but I like it and don't plan on changing it. 145 is short and easy to control but sucks in powder going under 20 MPH.

Also:
2001 Burton Ronin Jacket. (go it on Pro Form = cheap and new model @ the time)
1997 Magnum Cargo Pants (from Marshalls :P)

M3 sidewall board... bout 4 years old but its holding up
Flux bindings.. got them used 2 years ago and they still haven't broken. usually i break a strap or piece of the highback off by the end of a season...
angles: i forgot if its + or - but i have "toe out" on both sides
front = - 12
back = - 9
Vans Daniel Franck boots.. also 4 years old but hey they are worn in nice and perfect..

i had a k2 board which sucked.. tail broke off in 1 season
burton boards are t3h shiet, but their binding straps are kinda brittle
anyone going up for thanksgiving weekend? ill be in northshore most likely riding at northstar.

'04 burton custom X (157cm)
'04 burton mission bindings: 15/15 front & back (duck stance )

'96 never summer premiere
'96 burton custom freestyle bindings: 15/0

the NS board has served me well (been riding it every season since '96); it is still arguably the better board. the custom holds lines like it's on rails and makes you want to go off every jump/ledge there is!

oh, and if this is to serve as a reference for beginning boarders, BUY A HELMET!!! they're fairly cheap if you're going to attempt insanely stupid/fast isht!

Hahahahaha. I love my helmet...one time I caught my heelside edge doing mach 6 on some ice, bounced my head (with helmet) off the ground, and got a concussion even though I had the helmet on. Without it, I woulda been riding the short bus for sure (if I didn't die). Helmets just make sense...unless your d*** is so small that you need to compensate by looking cool while you're riding.

Old *** Bent Metal bindings jerry rigged to fit the burton pattern baseplate
2 yr old Burton Free style boots.

I like my set up. A litte fast but great landings on any big hit. I've only rode it this season and last season but it takes me off all the big hits, drops. Sometimes I miss the little kickers because I'm going too fast though.
Also, it's a little narrow for me boots. I was getting a little toe drag but changed my stance to 20/-20 (or however it goes) and it's cool.

Got a lot of p-tex already from all the rock/bolder drops from last year and this year already.

BTW - I will be riding Kirkwood on Sunday 11/21/04 if anyone is interested in hooking up for some runs. Should be blue bird.

Board: 2002 Neversummer Premier 157 (front: 15, back: 0)
Binding: 2004 Flow Pro-11 FR
Boot: 2003 Burton Driver

I really like my board and my binding. The board can do everything and anything!! Very durable and it holds edge very nicely. One draw back might be that it is on the heavy side. Also, the bindings are Soooo comfortable. I used to use Tech-nine strap-on binding (which was also nice), but the convinence and the comfort of the flow binding just can not be beaten.

The only problem I have with my gear it the boots... they are more of a stiff boot (which I don't mind so much) but the boot isn't so durable. I already have whole bunch of scuffings on the back of the boot (near the heels), and the boot is getting torn apart piece by piece...

2004 Santa Cruz Venom (duo) 163. My daily. Burton P1HD bindings.
2005 Santa Cruz GLX "LimitedL 165. Santa Cruz PLX bindings. powder board.
Burton Cascade. 159. Burton C14 bindings. Used to be daily board. now loaner..back up.
Nitro Seth. 152. Burton C14 bindings. Used to be daily board..now it's a loaner and a fart around board....will be my rail board when I build the rails at the house.
someone jacked my 156 galaxy prototype board but I could care less...just wish I still had my preston bindings....they were freaking sweet.

This year I'll be riding my old Burton Ion boots.

I loved the cascade but it couldn't handle anything over like a foot of pow and was a chore to ride...slower edge to edge and was starting to brake down and loose pop.

I love my Venom to death. Can handle up to about 2-3 feet..more if it's steep. Rips on everything I put it through. quick edge to edge. Rails nicely. Pops. Just rips.

Can not wait to get the GLX into some deep stuff...like 3-5 feet...yeeehaw.

I'd also like to get into a new boot soon. The ions are a bit too soft for my ankle support needs. But they rip cause the insoles have the toes cut off..YEEHAW. white trash..haaa. Accepting donations. LOL.

I just bought the snowboard, boots, jacket and pant. Haven't gotten a chance to put them to use. I used the bindings for one season and it was a major improvement from my previous setup.
