Uhhhh. Go trendy! Doing stuff because its trendy is stupid but for some reason im not surprised by the op.
My input... don't do it. In 20 yrs surgeons are gonna make a killing repairing this generations trends. I see 16 yr olds with huuuuuge gauges and all I can think is... wtf parents.
I've had them for 14 years. They're just there now. Im a professional. I still get questions and stares. Might as well tattoo your neck while you're at it.

if you think it will get you some swag...then go for it. lol personally i love my plugs which i've had for almost 10 years. i'll be the cool grandpa with the stretched ears. (that rhymed) the stinky ear problem can be solved by wearing stone/wooden/bone plugs which will soak up moisture and just overall care and cleaning of your plugs/piercing. stinky ear is caused by wearing plastic/metal/glass plugs where moisture is trapped and start to form as bacteria. i suggest ebay for all your plug needs since all the shops and hot topic will charge you 60% mark up. i got some old plugs for you when you get to my size if you want haha. oh and btw, take your time with stretching. general rule is you rip, you're f----ked. once you rip your skin it will heal as a hole and your chances of it closing up will be lost. at 0g you'll be able to leave you plugs out for a couple of months and it will close up to almost just a regular piercing. good luck!

I said retarded because you never do something that someone else thinks is cool. If you are questioning yourself then maybe it's not the right time fore you. I say that to my friends that ask this same question about tats. I have one and it's small but I fully wanted it and still want more. Do things that you really want and if you go a while wanting it then go for it. But if you make thhe choice on a whim you more than likely will regret it later.

how sad that you have to you would feel that piercing your ears would increase your chances of getting laid so it's a good idea. How about loose some weight or maybe just feel a little better about yourself. It's amazing how far self esteem can take you.
So I stand by my opinion... if you're doing it to make someone else think you're cooler you're doing it for the wrong reasons. If you're doing it because you think it looks bad *** and you can carry it off... AND you're aware of the drawbacks... then cool.
But the fact there is a thread about this tells me you're doing it for all the wrong reasons. So it's a no go for me. Hell I get annoyed when I see people doing what you're talking about doing and rocking a style I've been rocking for years.
So all you trendy bastards lay off my dickies and chucks!

I've been rocking dickies and chucks for 20 years. Lol!
To me if you're doing something cause you like it... trendy or not... more power to you. If you're asking around and doing something because others think its cool then you're in for the regrets. They will come. That's what is sad and that'd what I advise against. Especially when its something like this ir tattoos. This isn't a flat billed cap or some kanye shades we're talking about.

some things to consider also are added habits that you gotta pay attention to,daily cleaning is a must if you dont want stinky ears specially when youre just starting.them snagging also when you wipe by your ears(watch out!! lol)

like a lot of people above said dont do it because you might get some, but you might. most people can go from a 6g stretch back to normal in a week, so if you feel its not for you its not a big deal. tattoos are forever, plugs can be taken out. depending on your skins elasticity you can go up to 0-00g and go back to normal. if you do the stretch properly you wont get the butthole some people get when they take their plugs out.
