Shot my first handgun today!
Today me and my friend alex decided to go to target masters after school since i was planning to get a handgun as soon as i get my permit. So today i shot a Glock 17c which i thought was pretty good but it is the first handgun i shot. I would prefer to stick to a 9mm platform and i know there are a couple of people that are pretty familiar with guns here so any recomendations?

get a glock...or a h&k pistol...take your pick. they're all good
edit: actually scratch that. shoot lots of em. find the one you feel the most comfortable with and get that.
reason: everyone's been raving about springfield XD's...i almost bought one, but when I fired it I didn't feel comfortable at all...I couldn't put down any sort of decent pattern. so see what you like first.

Nice, the first time I went shooting was at Target Masters and shot a Glock 17 9mm and the XD-9 subcompact. I liked the Glock much more, felt easier to handle and shoot. The XD was very loud and lots more recoil. Fun stuff.

H&K's are way overpriced Stick with a Glock 17 or 19, there is no need for a compensated 9mm in my book. Glock's are known to not have much recoil anyways If you just like shooting for fun and you plan on going once in a while get a 22LR like a Sig Mosquito or a Glock 17/19 and then buy a .22LR conversion kit. There are so many options out there though.
Best thing to do is rent a bunch of diiferent guns and try them out. Or if you have firends with guns try theirs out and see which you like better overall all. 9mm is the easy to get and is cheaper as well. I currently just bought me a Walther P22-CA Target which is a .22LR since .45 is so damn high nowadays. I am looking for a friend or two toinvest in a Dillon Reloader and start reloading my own rounds instead of spending so much for .45 rounds. So for now the .22LR will be more then enough since I find myself shhoting about 1,000 rounds or more a month

I think that's not bad at about 10-12 ft. out either my eyes or crooked or i was shooting off to the right today.
