Shift Light

I am thinking about maybe putting a shift light in my car. If i do, I want it to be really inconspicuous and not one of those big bulky ones the size of a small guage. Does anyone know of like a little led insert that I could put somewhere in my guage cluster or something? Nothing really fancy or flashy, just functional you know? I saw this cool video of a supposedly prodrive shift light, but I havent been able to find any information on it:

I'm interested to. Ever since i removed my Espelir JGT500, I run high RPM's because I got used to listening to the engine to change gears.

yea im thinking of rigging up an LED to tell me when to shift. with my new setup it's pretty scary to look down when going full throttle.

Yeah there is one called...Rapter.

And you can put it anywhere, I like the idea of putting it in the left center air vent.

yea because it's smart to look down at your gauge cluster when going full throttle.... I didn't really need one on my old setup since the revs weren't as quick but now everything goes by pretty quick and I would like to focus on the road

the sti cluster isn't very bright and the beeper is very quite, too hard to hear over the car unless you have the stock exhaust. also the usdm one only goes to 7k.

as ricey as it sounds....i just like the sweep and defi look
I gotta figure out how to wire in one. I know some guys with their 93-01s have done it and retain their stock dash (just a few gaps)

I just listen to RPM frequency. on my setup, and most others, your peak torque is in the lower RPM. past 6K RPM doesn't matter and you're just wasting fuel.

I would set my light to 6500 or so. I run a vf-34 on a 2.5 and I have plenty of steam in the higher RPM's. And daredevil, I would be happy to drive against you on track . I can listen to my rpm frequency, and usually do - how do you think I have shifted under full load for the past 20k miles? But, none the less a light would be nice - sort of like a luxury.

The sti cluster would be sick, but if theres issues getting it in and working properly as well as gaps from it not fitting right, I am not sure it would be such a great idea. Putting that shift light in the air vent is a good idea however...I might actually do that. Who knows. I want something just like a single LED that is on my dash, and flashes when its time. Thats it.
