48.xxx (+1), 46.1, 45.8 in the #31 STS Acura. Good enough for #26 PAX...but only 8th in class. STS is pretty brutal! Needless to say, Charlie and I are still figuring out the car but it is getting faster. Had a new front bar and new seat on it for yesterday.
Yes, no ABS on the Civics or Acura in STS. The car actually has pretty decent brakes (and the Acura ones are better than the Civic ones), but no ABS means that if you go even a bit over the "threshold" that they just lock up. On GGF, it is quite easy to go over that threshold
STX may have been infested by Subies, but looks like a FERD won the class
Thanks for your patience (I was one of the co-chairs) thru the weather and other issues. I think that was the largest turnout we've ever had at a GGF event!
BTW, results online at
http://www.sfrscca.com/solo2/Results...p/round03.html
Few other notes :
1. The white STI with the fender flares belongs to Ron Pippen. He is working with Navid Kahanghi (of eXtreme Performance in San Jose) to prep the car for an all-out Nationals level Street Mod class assault! The car should be WICKED when finished!
2. Of note yesterday was CS, namely Ron Bauer and Kevin Dietz coming down from Northwest region and running their Pontiac Solstice. Kevin is the reining National Champ in CS (in that car), and managed to PAX #1 (out of almost 1200 competitors!) at Topeka last year. They are both Evolution (autocross driving school) instructors. So if you want an idea of how high the bar can be set, they are a pretty good indicator as well as some of the other "Nationals Level" drivers in our region (i.e. Chris ***, Vic Sias, Andy McKee, Theresa Neidel-McKee, amongst others...).

I was on a brand new setup, so hopefully I'll get faster through the year.
I'm still replaying the track in my head trying to figure out how I could have gone faster... treat it like a rallycross track, maybe? That wet asphalt almost felt like dirt, especially with all that gravel out there.
Where'd you ebrake? My guesess: into the decreasing radius loop and then again at the right jog after the straight coming out of the loop? That tricky box at the end caught me up on all my runs, too.
