Scam Alert/Reminder

Hi all.

I was approached by a gentlemen today at Wells Fargo in Fremont! He pulled up to me and asked me if I wanted him to fix my door. Before he even said a price, I said "not interested." He said he'd do it for $140. And again I said not interested.

What is ironic is that yesterday, someone flagged me down in Milpitas telling me he could fix my door for "cheap" as well.

This is a reminder for you and your families that these people are NOT LEGITIMATE. Well... I assume they are not legitimate.

Don't fall for these scams! Be aware. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

What's wrong with your door? Car door? or home door? I guess if someone is going around asking to access your front home door, I would definitely avoid them.

In the picture, if you look a little right to the darkonion.com magnet... you can kind of see the dent. It's actually a big dent. Yeah...

Someone offered me ding repair service at a gas station not too long ago. After I turned him down he gave me a legitimate business card (picture, business name, phone numbers, etc).

Maybe this is just the "door-to-door" nature of dent removal workers.

Yeah. I would really feel better if that's the case, but yeah... I dunno.

yea my dad was approached by one of these people, paid 40 bucks and had a huge dent removed that he hadnt planned on fixing because body shops would have charged too much. When I came back from college, I inspected it and there were no defects or cracks in the paint maybe some are legit

I was just thinking of this: has anyone ever heard of someone purposely denting people's cars then approaching them after and offering them repair services? I've heard of scams like this before. Hopefully these people aren't doing that.

I like the girls in pleather dressed like import models showing products to "clear my headlights" at some gas stations.

Personal experience says that some are legit. While I lived in SoCal, some dent repair guys came into the pool hall where I was playing, offered to fix up all the dents in the car for $200 - once they were done, I couldn't tell where the dents were.

Besides, we have Justin - set up dent days - pay cash, remove dents...
