Saw a Saabaru today in Mt. View
Not bad looking at all. But the guy was a snob when I said nice wagon he had a smirk on his face and drove away... How much are those things anyway?

i almost bought one. even with a $5000 cash incentive, the OTD price was will $4k more for the saabaru. although the saab comes with hid's, moonroof, leather, and 17s.
imo the saab had a smoother idle (absolutely still, i can feel the boxer rumble on my wrx), and had stiffer dampners. otherwise the cars feel identical. the center mounted tach in the WRX is waaaay cooler than the 2.5RS cluster in the 9-2x =x

I don't like them. I've seen a couple of them already.
It's nice that they come with hids and leather and the sunroof and what not, but not worth the mark up. I like my scoop and I like my rumble. I don't like the saab cluster. Roof rails are an option...for some that's a benefit for me that's a draw back.
So figure this....cost of the roof rails and cluster I can pick up sti hids.
You can get CUSTOM leather w/heated and vibrating seats for about $1300. You can get a great sunroof installed for around $1000. I saw one installed on a wagon at santa cruz subaru. Looks perfect...stock.
So for about $2500 I could make the posh improvements to the subaru and have something custom and something I like better.
It's just too much extra money. Saab should make their own **** and let it break down like the rest of their stuff.
About the only benefit is gonna be more cars on the road and possibly more aftermarket.
They have a few suspension bits that are nice upgrades for pre 05 wagons.

I was to buy my wagon new, I would seriously think about getting the Saab version (especially with the current $5,000 rebate)...it looks better, is better equipped, has a better warranty and their dealership is within walking distance to my house...:P
My family has always owned Saabs, and my stepfather's project car is an '88 900 Turbo SPG that he's put a LOT of work into (http://www.secondmethod.com/saab/ if you want to see pics/mod list). I drive it whenever I'm visiting the East Coast, and it's deceptively fast...at least as fast as my WRX, though not nearly as linear. Driving the Saab was one of the main factors in me buying my Subaru anyway, because I really started loving the whole turbo thing.

Were you driving your EVO or the M3 Gino?
Somehow I do not think the comradery is the same between Saab owners
From my overseas forums Saab owners consider the 9-2 the biggest sin that Saab could have made. They also say that Saab can teach Subaru all about turbos.
IMHO much rather not have owners like that.
Cheers
Nick
