911 calls on cell phones go to CHP dispatch in vallejo. The thing about cell phones is that they do not know your location, which is why all of them go to CHP vallejo.

Then they transfer your call to local offices wherever you are.

and yes, many times it goes to a voicemail system which even says "if this is an emergency hang up and dial 911."

I just learned this 30 minutes ago in my class at the dublin sheriffs dept.
