Just FYI, on all Subarus the spare should be used on the front wheels only. If you get a puncture in a rear tire, you are supposed to swap it with one of the fronts and put that front tire on the rear. The reason for this is that the front differential is an "open" differential and allows the left and right to spin at different speeds. This isn't as big of an issue when the rear differential is an "open" diff as well, but on all WRXs and up it's a LSD rear diff and attempts to spin the left and right wheels at the same speed.

coulda sworn on my 04 STi, that this is opposite. due to the spare not clearing the front brembos.
of course, IIRC, or last time i looked, my 04 STi spare is the same diameter as the stock tire (225/45/15 RE 070s)
