The store mgr told me "if i patch every joe schmoes tire for free even if they didn't buy from us, it would increase the waiting time for our REAL customers and that's not right"

he tried charging me $30 to patch it... i complained and he eventually gave in. lol
you can't really blame em.

If you didn't buy something from them i'm sure they can really give a damn about you, they didn't make any money off you, yet it does cost them (time and parts ...very little for parts, but you figure 10 cents per person probably adds up to be a lot with such a big company)

Another +1 for America's Tire. I go to the one at 237/El Camino in Mountain View. They have fixed stuff free for me 3x now. The last time, just before a road trip in Oct, I noticed I had a nail in one of my RE92s about to go back on the car. Dan, the guy that usually helps me, fixed it free and didn't check the computer first or anything. I didn't expect it, but he did it all and said "just remember me next time you need tires" which is what he told me in '97 when I was just passin thru and wanted my tires rotated. Coulda remembered me, but I doubt it.

At least for future use.
Those are great for short term stop-gap fixes, but if you use it, you should follow up with a proper patch.

These are really only good for temporary emergency use, but well worth having in the car, which reminds me I owe one of these kits to John and Crystal.......

ugh i swear they americas tire co in walnut creek scratched the rim up. i have little nicks on the lip of the rim and the inside has a 3" piece of the lip that has the paint scratched off also. they said that they use nylon when putting the tire on and it wont scratch anything. w/e got a new tire and i can at least drive my car now.
