Welcome home Drew
I usually wave when a Subaru driver either makes eye contact or waves at me first. I still remember the good ol' days when I could wave at any GDA and they'd wave back, and when 75% of the GC8's would wave too. Back in the good ol' days of spring/summer 2001

I have been waving for a while - I think 2 people have waved back. No matter. Maybe it's because I'm a haole asshat? Maybe people can't see me thru my tint. I think the most fun is driving my old yellow Celica like a facking moron and waving at WRX's - at least I get weird looks. One of these days I am gonna get a white WRX w/ white 18" P1's and roll around in a Stormtrooper outfit just to m*fkn represent. Or something.
Oh well, I will keep throwing that thumbs up or flippant steering wheel wave (the only way to wave non-homo style).

i think you can generally tell. if they are looking at you like they are waiting for something.. they are probably waiting for the wave. i tend to not wave to grandma and grandpa cruzin in their OBS, i have a feeling they wouldnt have a clue.. (no offense to the older people on the site, you are just cooler than most). soccer moms with child seats in the back are probably non-wavers too
thats the thing i think is so cool about most subie drivers, they dont have that mentality. i have had obviously modded WRX's and STi's pull up along side my bone stock 2002 2.5 RS and give me a thumbs up. cruise around in my integra GSR... people just rev at me.. hehe
