there was only 2 lifts running to the greens and to the main run
the rest of the resort wasn't groomed yet and pretty much waist high powder, we still shredded it. haha our friend got stuck in it

Don't get me wrong... I'm glad y'all had a blast up there & didn't suffer any dings to yourselves or your gear due to the rocks, shrubs, roots, dirt, etc. just underfoot. I remember not being so lucky w/ my board on my first time up for the season a few years back. The temptation of early freshies in the trees was just too irresistible. I dove in to weave in & out just off the run here & there. Third time MUST be the charm, b/c I heard a gnarly scraaaaaape & had to do a li'l "wobble" as a result of a rock. When I checked my base, I had a 1-1/2" by 1/4" gouge near the one of my edges. There were even li'l bits of the rock embedded into the P-tex. Even though I was bummed about the damage, I was fortunate to not get hurt and that it wasn't a core shot.
Moral of the story: When it comes to "off the beaten path" goodies, it's still a li'l too soon to go buck wild! So be smart out there. Don't be tool like I was!
Alrighty, enuff afterschool special crap... back to our regularly scheduled program.
I'm in the same boat as you, Kyle, I can't wait to get thru finals this week. I gotta get my slide on soon or I'm gonna go mad!

yea we were playing it safe. just going off to the side of the runs a little bit.. not like we went to ride between the trees or anything. but you are totally right, and we wouldn't have gone off into parts other riders already havent gone through.
i did get a huge ding on the nose of my board, but that was from missing a jib on the corner of a rail.
all that aside, it was the best season opener for me in years!

Did Boreal require a school transcript or will a photo student ID pass?
yeah, i guess i shouldnt risk scraping up my neighbors burton
it clicked for me when i learned to keep my front foot on and imaginary pivot point and rotate your back foot to turn, all while keeping your leading edge above the snow. good luck, i need some waterproof pants since i have to wait for my GF every 5 minutes, even though im out of breath 1/2 the time.

Ya lucky dawg, Jeremy! I'm sure ya had fun out there!
Thanks for getting your snow-groove on! I'm guessing it was an "Elbows up, side to side!" kinda move. Keep it up. There's still a long way to go.

The snow was pretty damn good at northstar the last two days. the summit was kinda icy but the rest was pretty good. northstar needs to open up more parks but all in all, it was a fun weekend. my bad again jeremy..my dumb *** always forgets something because I was so stoked about riding. next time for sure bro.
