Put in a killer closing weekend @ BV, hands down the best closing day(s) I've ever had... first 3hrs on Sunday was the ****!
Had a free evening last night so it gave me a chance to put my Kirkwood footy from last month together:

Next year I'm putting a couple trips together. I should be able to get my hands on 10 lift tickets or so to Mammoth. I'm thinking of heading down for 3-4 days. And I want to put together a road trip.
Thinking like 5 dudes in a suburban out to Utah. Hit tahoe on the way out. Then 2-3 days at Powder Mountain. Hit tahoe on the way back. LOL!
I'm really pissed off I didn't get to get down on closing weekend. I had to choose my battles. **** happens.
Anyone need a board? I'm gonna sell my Libtech. 164.5 Travis Rice Pro H.P. Pointy. It's a dope board but I want to change up what I'm running a little bit. I'm gonna swap out to a dark knife or something similar in around 162 size and then pick up a dedicated powder board... leaning towards a Jones right now. A fish style board.
So I'm gonna toss up a board, a couple pair of boots and probably a couple pairs of goggles for sale. Maybe a helmet or two.

I can't wrap my head around resorts that stick to their closing dates no matter what.
Bear Valley is a perfect example. Last year on closing weekend I hiked the ridge with my brother.... in the mud.... to get to runs that had decent corn on them... and I'm talking about no more than a 12 inch base.
They are at nearly 100 inches right now with snow still falling and they're closed.... WTF? That's absolutely retarded. They could milk that base for a solid month of amazing spring grooming.
I'm trying to decide if it's worth taking my kid up there and just walking the slopes with her. And then hiking the ridge and doing some runs on my own. If you time it right the corn riding up there can be killer in the right places.

What resorts are still open and have good snow? Since I finally got my Subi I want to go up for a day trip this weekend...no snow tires/wheels yet but I don't think it's bad enough to warrant them for a day trip at this point. Thoughts?

I believe Squaw & Boreal are the only ones open.
Kirkwood, Northstar & Heavenly's last day was Sunday the 17th.
Not much snow left with all this warm weather- Melting Fast.
Its Wakeboard season !

Yup. Pissing me off.
They just keep buying up resorts and jacking up prices. I don't like what they're doing to the industry. They're going to take it right back to the land of the only people doing it are rich skiers.
Their business model is basically to get as much money from you as humanly possible every time you go up. Bleed you dry. That means a lot of people go up once a year. Instead of getting those same people up several times a year and in the end spending even more money had you decreased your prices to reasonable levels so they could handle it.
I hate it.
Adding Whistler to the places I probably won't ride.
There are dope mountains everywhere they own mountains that you can go to for much cheaper that aren't full of kooks and are more rider centric.
When we went through Utah I intentionally avoided park city even though we were right there. Same thing with Breckenridge. Powermountain in Utah was the **** and it was like $100 a night for a hotel and a lift ticket.

Aha I knew there had to be a snowboarding thread around here somewhere! I'm fairly new to the area. How often do you guys make the trek out to Tahoe? And do you buy season passes?

Tons of people go up to tahoe. I'd recommend meeting up with them. And most years there's at least one group trip to tahoe.
I generally ride bear valley because we've got a place up there and that's where my season pass is. I shoot for 20 days a season. But last few years I've come up short partially because of snow conditions and partially because I have a family now. LOL!
But 15 is pretty average.
