Terrain park on a powder day? Say it ain't so...You might even be lucky enough to have fresh turns all day from so much snow...Saturday is supposed to be the big dump day.

Bear Valley reality check in.
Been following the weather cycles and here's what I'm seeing so far.
The last couple days the returns have been about 35% of what they've expected. So reality... coming in to today there was probably 4 inches on the mountain fresh.
Today was suppose to get a foot to a foot and a half. Reality is.. 7 inches or so.
So that's 11 inches in roughly 2 days. Most of it not ridden.
Now the kicker... suppose to dump tonight. So anyone that's driving please please be careful. My guess is we'll see 14 inches between now and opening tomorrow.
SO call it 25 inches of mostly fresh coming in to tomorrow and we'll see more snow tomorrow and sunday as well. So it should be PLENTY of snow to play in.
But here is the reality. Don't be stupid. 2 feet goes away pretty damned fast when there's no base. The trees and rocks are all still right under your feet so be careful where you're riding. Wait a few more weeks before you start venturing out to those off trail places you love so much. I generally look for a base of about 3 feet and we're almost to that.
Same goes for all the other resorts. The bases all over tahoe are still under 30 inches. Way under in most cases.
