Seriously. Bear Valley's base has dropped to 10 inches. They've already got 4 feet of snow this season but it's all melting away. Openning day was suppose to be Friday but I don't see it happening.

My radar has us getting smashed on christmas... but don't hold me to it. I'm predicting some HUGE breaks in storms this season. Like 2 weeks of no snow but then HUGE storms in between. The frustrating kind that you can't ride during. I'm basically going to be trying to get my days in on 3 day bursts instead of nickel an dimeing as usual.

I'm hoping my first day is around new years in about 13inches of fresh. But don't hold me to that either.

Last weekend I went over to Northstar. It was surprisingly pretty good since it hadn't snowed yet. They just opened Zephyr that day so we were able to hit the top and come all the way down. Mountain wasn't packed at all. Backside wasn't open yet
I did spot a new lift and a new side of the mountain opening up. That should be exciting

Once it starts snowing it's going to be a beautiful place.

ive only gone up to borring hill (boreal) and the only reason was to get my snow tires in reno. it was packed and only mildly fun. snow was harsh and sparse lol. Im going down to socal for 2 weeks at the end of the month, hopefully I'll bring some snow with me upon my return for the first of the year lol

While we're all waiting for snow, came across this deal on a snowboard forum:

Buy a Tahoe License Plate and Ski for Free

Buying a Tahoe Specialty license plate gets you 2 free lift tickets to pretty much any Tahoe resort valid Sunday-Friday 2011/2012 season for $50. I was thinking of doing it but with a personalized plate but then it'd be $98.

Was just up at Kirkwood on Saturday last weekend. Free lift tickets if you have season passes to other resorts. Besides that I have a Vail season pass to Northstar and Heavenly. Will be there again this weekend.

I bet if you call them and try to talk to them nicely they'll hook you up with an extension. Or at least a credit toward normal days.

Bear Valley is opening tomorrow and I just don't see how it's gonna be much of anything to jump about. Their base is almost gone already. Granted it seems we might be in for some weather over the next couple weeks... but still. I know I'm not going. If I go it will be strictly to make sure I get my locals beer mug reserved in the bar.

Sheesh! The start to this season sucks big time! I was hoping to get a ton of shredding in over the next few weeks.

I saw this story on the news last nite...
CBS 5 - Sierra Ski Resorts Coping With Dry December

I'm washing my wagon 2mrw. I think I'll ask my bro if he wants to fire up the grill on Sat during a baby shower at his in-laws.

Who else wants to help La Niņa, Old Man Winter & Mother Nature out?

I don't give a damn whether the snow is man made or not, I have no patience and I want to ride. I need to go this weekend. I hear there's 18-24" at the base of Heavenly and that good enough for me.
