I'm just entered in the DH or "production" class, so yeah, spandex DH one-piece (no rubber suits) and I have to wear a regular DH helmet (no fancy aero speed bucket) and run regular production DH skis (<225cm before 2000, <215 since then).
I have a couple pairs of 240's, (actually, 235's and 238's) a rubber suit (with heat blisters on the back from my fall in '99) and my old helmet- which wouldn't be allowed to run anywhere, so if I want to step back up to the real speed league, I'll need to update my suit and helmet to the tune of about 3 grand, and then I'll need to go to France where the real speed tracks are, as the track record at Sun Peaks is just over 107mph.
I might be getting old, but having at least one run over 124mph is still something I really want to do- and might yet manage to pull off someday.

I have entered some races over the years and done pretty well but don't have speed numbers. I know in one of the ones I entered in Tahoe I was the only snowboarder to hit the times of the skiers. I think I broke in to the top 8 if I remember right... ski times. WAAAAAAAY ahead of everyone else on boards. But I washed out my second run and bucked a gate on my third so I didn't win. BOOOOOOO!!!!!
No way I've hit triple dig though. That's got to fee friggin awesome. If I had to ball park my fastest speed ever.... I think I'd probably be pretty close if I said between 75-80.

We not only come to ride we build snow caves too
Matt wanted to go inside and passed out drunk

Sweet cave, Steve!
Along w/ the heavy snowfall late Thur & all day Fri, it looks like the wind is gonna be howling even more than last week. The forecast is telling me that lifts will be shut down completely on Fri w/ possible holds on Thur & maybe a late opening on Sat. Being that I called last week's VERY limited lift service on Thur, I'm confident I'll be 2 for 2 for the most part. It just sucks what I'm being right about.

Where are you looking to get your shred on?

At least you weren't down there alone. You had those other 2 guys for company. You made good time getting out of there with minimal complaining though. I would have been *****ing the whole time and it would have taken me like an hour.
Ray's footage came out good. Since he hit the unlock/lock button though it is a little shaky. But watching my videos of riding and then watching videos from his perspective, it's like night and day. If I turn off the sound, people would be able to tell. I don't know how he moves that body into and out of some of those areas.

Yeah, sorry for the miscue cliff.
I was waving right but I can see how it would look like I was saying... "hit that." Especially considering there was no tracks there.
You made it out quick dude. That other dude flew out of there. You guys would have had to come back for my fat ***. I would have taken forever getting out of there. At least you know where not to go now. If you want to go that way you have to stay on top of the ridge on the other side... and usually walk out. That's why I avoid it. LOL.

Was my fault for mis-reading your hand signal. I simultaneously saw ZERO tracks & your gesture, then thought you were suggesting, "Behold! We've got lines to carve up!

Yeah it took everything for me not to knock that dude out. Way bad judgement call on my part paying the dude early. I just figured since he was a neighbor he'd come through. Guess not. Damn mountain tweakers. I can tell I have grown as a person in the last couple years. I figured it would be easier to just let it go and grab a shovel.
I'm gonna set something up with the neighbor and her kids in the future. Pay them $10 a foot or something like that. I'd rather save my back for snowboarding.

Was best to just chalk it up as a lesson learned. It only cost us a brew & some chump change for him to not come asking again. I sure hope he doesn't have the audacity to call on y'all the next to you're up.
And Amen to saving your back for shredding, esp. since mine ain't the strongest.

What really sucks is getting screwed over by whoever Ray's pop paid to have it cleared. Yeah, the snow had set up pretty good by Sat evening. Even though I felt bad that El Jefe & Jordan were already chuckin' snow, on principle, I was only gonna go out there to make sure the Tweaker fr Cal Berkeley (yeah, right... funny, huh, Ray?) finished the job we paid him to do.

I guess that's what people call their dealers up there. And medical books is code work for 8 ball. And used to be a millionaire is code work for I used to pay my own rent.
Yeah, next time I', up there I plan on talking to my neighbor and to the road plow guy. I'd rather see the neighborhood kids make some scratch for coffee than that dude for lord knows what.

Holy hell! psoper is a BEAST! That's a buttload of runs! Forty-FREAKIN'-seven?!? Then top it off that on over 3/4 of 'em he's hitting Mach 2. Mucho props to you, bruddah! I'm not worthy... I'm not worthy...
Re: Ray not being able to flow like normal... I felt bad for getting in your way a buncha times. But like I mentioned on Fri nite after hearing Justin's scare, the depth of snow meant we had to stick pretty close to one another, then stopping to check that we didn't have any snow immersions.
Re: radios... I may have to dig out the earpiece/mic dealio that came w/ my pair. Although I could set it up for voice-activated-for-talk mode, I'll just press & hold the button while it's still in my chest pocket when transmitting. But yeah, a BlueTooth/wireless set-up would be way more convenient!
Ha! I like that bit about the guy being part snowshoe. Maybe he downed a pitcher of Thompson's for breakfast.
And I'm worried for the "Cal Berkeley" Tweaker if he comes 'round on a day your patience for his BS ain't as chill as the other day. Btw, Ray, did I ever mention I tried out for the Niners? Ya know since I do rock their winter sideline jacket fr a couple seasons back. While I'm at it, I did Spring Training for the A's a few times, too, but didn't make the cut. Don't believe me? I have the Nike base layer long-sleeve to prove it.

But you're more than welcome to do what you're jonesin' to do, bro. Just be safe. And be prepared.
I'll keep you posted as the week goes on & the weather outlook becomes more concrete. To be clear, you're cool w/ Kirkwood, right? You mentioned when but not where.
