I was beating myself over the head all day for not riding yesterday, so I broke out my old school Freebord to cruise around for a bit.
Like everyone else, I was really surprised that the wknd's li'l storm managed to squeeze out a generous helping of pow. I guess all those rain dances, car washes, virgin sacrifices, etc. really helped out, eh?

Kirkwood was awesome today! They reportedly got 14-18" at the top. I got about 21k vertical in (says phresheez app) from about 9:30 to 4. Got some good fresh tracks in, but there were also numerous places where it was a few inches of fluffy on top of a sheet of ice, which was tough.
Had my first day out with the Sierra RC, and I liked it! Much more stable on the groomers than I thought, and it was super easy to ride. I might make it my go-to board!
I'll be up there again tomorrow, so hoping the conditions remain excellent!

Ok... who's heading up for some shreddin' in the sunshine this wknd? I haven't gone since New Year's Eve, and I screwed up royally in skipping out this past Sun when I thought there would only be the forecasted 3 - 6" atop the firm crud.
I'm thinking of "hiding" from the crowds by hitting up Homewood on Sat. I haven't been to this Ma&Pop resort in a few years, but I've never been disappointed w/ riding there. Plus, I'm hoping to find some of those hidden stashes of pow in the trees that I've heard () can be found days after a storm at lower-traffic resorts.
