Jumps and tree rails were great today.

Jumps were really good, surprisingly. When it softened up I managed to get in a couple 7's and a 9.

Sunday does show a chance for some snow showers in the Tahoe area, but pretty sure it'll change to no snow.

Heading up for some boarding on Fri and Sat. Just bringing the short as this thing called powder doesn't exist. But my sister and my roommate's lady friend is coming up and they are both very green when it comes to snowboarding, so my roommate and I will be occupied with free lessons for a bit. But of course, I am bringing my video camera to tape the hilarity that will ensue.

Sure will be there. Might be able to escape the teaching for a bit and catch a few runs with you. Let me know when you get up to the mountain.

I caught some of the XGames Big Air competition a bit ago and saw that Scotty Lago was hucking himself off the gap despite the broken jaw he suffered a li'l over 2 weeks ago during a backcountry film sesh. Commentators said he'd won the Best Method contest earlier in the day (seen here) and that he'll be doing 2 other comps -- looks like it's slopestyle & pipe. His jaw was actually wired shut just prior to Winter X, but now has heavy bands to aid in recovery. What a gamer!

Also, no Flyin' Tomato in the slopestyle final. While he was busy making sure he kept reign in pipe over the last yr or so, everyone else stepped up their slopestyle game.

'Tis amazing what these fools are throwing out there. Young & ballsy! Mucho props to them.

But since I'm a freeride addict, we just need the storm door to open up soon. I hope the predictions of mid-Feb are right about getting heaps of pow pow to freshen up our playgrounds.

... WINTER WEATHER SET TO RETURN SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY...

AFTER NEARLY A MONTH OF MILD AND DRY WEATHER... AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE THROUGH CALIFORNIA SATURDAY NIGHT AND INTO SUNDAY... BRINGING SNOW TO THE EASTERN SIERRA AND PORTIONS OF WESTERN NEVADA.

THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE EASTERN SIERRA EARLY SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON. ABOVE 7000 FEET... 5 TO 10 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE WITH LOCALLY OVER A FOOT ALONG THE SIERRA CREST FROM TAHOE TO MONO COUNTY. BELOW 7000 FEET IN THE SIERRA THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW... INCLUDING THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN

THANK YOU JESUS!!!
