What I found out on my journey today...

Vans boots are really comfy for me (with BOA lacing)

Thirty Twos are comfortable also but I need to try on the TM2's

Do you guys recommend BOA lacing?

If you're looking at that, check out Jones' real boards.

Vans are good boots for sure. Never actually wore them, but I hear they're good and you can find cheap ones.

Never heard anything bad about boa except if they break, then you're effed. I've always had the trusty lace ups and never had an issue. Boas are super convenient...as long as they stay working.

Yeah. Usually I keep tools in my backpack anyway (for that exact issue and binding adjustments.) Heard you could replace the wires also

I'm really looking at these Vans Encores.. I know they aren't as stiff but damn they were comfy!

If you're like me, you should account for how much you're going to use them and how long you want to keep them. Boots will wear out and become jello soft after a couple seasons if you buy soft right off the bat...if you ride as much as me..which is a lot.

If its comfy, then go for it, since that's what its about. But sometimes comfort walking around doesn't mean it's going to be good on the hill. My boots aren't very comfortable just sitting and walking around, but when i'm riding, they feel great.

I'm not sure if I'll be going as much as you, since you're already there!

I am going to be ridiculously busy during that time so there's no way I'm gonna be able to do it then. I might not be able to ride much at all. Sucks.

I'm hoping to get 8-10 days in January though and a couple this month.

So you guys wanna start working on a date that will work out for you guys?
Yea January sounds good to me. Maybe 2nd week of January, weekend of the 8th? I might have another trip going on in January also but nothing set in stone yet. Should figure something out soon though. I'm planning on going up this week with my buddy Paul that you met.

My gf has boa's, and claims that they come loose on her all the time. I think she just doesn't snap it in tight enough...

What everyone is saying. I just got whatever boots were cheap and fit me my first year. Huge mistake. Turned out to make my feet hurt so bad every time. I just thought that was how it was supposed to feel, but it turns out my boots just weren't wide enough for my feet. I ended up replacing them the last couple weeks of the season and thinking how the entire season was less cool than it could have been if I just got the right boots...
