Good to see that the Bear pass is fairly competitive right now. $299 (til 30 Apr) for the UNLIMITED is awesome!
Question for ya, Ray... did you end up waiting a bit (like sometime in the fall) til you scored this season's pass at $450?
Oh, and hilarity on El Jefe checkin' you, foo'!

I've thought about getting the Double Whammy or even the Sierra ONLY pass (N* kinda fell off my radar for a while), but both spots tend to be a bit too b0nkerz w/ crowds & lines.
Plus, I got super-stoked off of Kirkwood a couple seasons ago! So in my 12th season, I FINALLY got a pass last month! Kirkwood offered a mid-winter college pass for $159! I could typically find tix (vouchers, deals, etc.) for about 40 bux, and I figured I'd be riding there for at least 4 days... so why not? I put 2 days in on a trip when I picked up my pass & I'll put 2 more in this Mon & Tue, so all days after that are icing on the cake! Now if I base it off of the walk-up price of $74, I'm golden after the 1st hr on Monday. Either way, it's all good!

Last nite, I just so happened to have checked all the websites for our area resorts, and the only ones that I came across were:
Easter Sunday, 12 Apr: Diamond Peak & Tahoe Donner
Sun, 19 Apr (tentatively): Mt Rose
* direct from their main page... Closing Day? Mt. Rose will stay open at least Through April 19th. (Extended Season? TBD)
I realize that it's practically like "the fine print" in legal documents, but c'mon, bro... I guess you do "suck at finding info"
Anyway, in general, I'd say that all but a handful of resorts will be open passed Sun, 19 Apr. So we've only got 4 weeks til we're down to places like Alpine, Squaw & a couple others for getting our Spring slide on!

Damn... BV moved it forward.
Most of these can change 1-3 weeks if we get a couple more storms and I'm predicting a nice end to march and beginning of april. I still see 4 more feet coming at least. We're WAY under projections for March and April has been good lately.

My body is beat the F up right now!
Last nite, I just got back fr 3 kick @$$ days of riding! Such a shame that we've begun a serious warm up, so spring conditions are in full effect w/in a couple days of a serious dump of fresh! Both good & bad... I guess.
Sunday I went to Sugar Bowl for Day 2 of a special trip set up by Sierra Snowboard & Ski. If you're into riding or skiing and you don't know about them, I seriously wonder what cave you're living in that has internet access?
Anyway, LOTSA POW that day w/ a private demo for our group. I got to the resort just after 10, so all the powder boards were snatched up. I ended up w/ the Burton Hero w/ CO2 bindings. Since I was a reverse-camber virgin, 'twas a pleasant surprise how "floaty" it felt in pow for a freestyle-oriented deck. I rode solo for the 1st half of the day b/c I had no clue what most of the folks looked like. Plus, goggles, masks, bandanas, beanies, helmets, etc. obscure the faces I would recognize. When I finally caught up w/ a part of the group after lunch, I had an even funner time smashing the mtn! Too bad I couldn't hook up w/ them sooner. And according to the latest pix & postings, I missed out by not doing the whole weekend.
Here's the thread, if you wanna take a quick peek... http://www.sierrasnowboard.com/forum....asp?TID=21499. It's a super long thread, but other than the 1st post, all the fun stuff starts on page 39. Free lift tix, free lunch & private demo! Next year's should be bigger, so I'll make sure I don't miss out on any part of the mayhem!
As fun as that day was, I drove down to the South Shore to get 2 more days in at The 'Wood! Bluebird Monday was b0nkerz! Apparently, the backside wasn't open on Sun so there were TONS OF FRESHIES! But everything was a blast, except it was pretty windy up until about 2.
Tuesday was just as sunny as Mon... a li'l warmer but w/ virtually no wind. Everything was pretty tracked-out but we we were able to find some stashes of heavy pow here & there.
So my body is worn out after all this but I still managed to put in several hours today helping clear out my Ma's old real estate office. I guess I can look forward to sleeping like a rock for the 2nd straight nite!
