I was up @ N* Sun/Mon. It was beautiful up there it started snowing about 9am on Sunday and still didn't stop when I left 4pm on Monday.
They started turning Comstock @ 11am on Monday and was so stoked to have a top-bottom run w/ no crowds!!!
Pics of the Suby on Monday morning coming soon!

I'm too beat right now to give my conditions update on Kirkwood justice & time it deserves. I'll hook y'all up tomorrow. I can barely keep my eyes open. Since I was considering riding Tues or maybe even Wed (Xmas Eve), I went to look at the latest forecast. Pay special attention to my "highlights" in the sections I quoted...
See y'all in the morning w/ my KW snow conditions report.

...STORMY WEATHER POSSIBLE FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY PERIOD...
AN ARCTIC AIR MASS WILL BRING COLD AND STORMY WEATHER TO NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA THROUGH THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK. A SERIES OF
WARMER AND WETTER STORMS MAY THEN AFFECT THE REGION FROM
CHRISTMAS EVE THROUGH NEW YEAR`S DAY.
THE FIRST OF TWO COLDER STORMS WILL MOVE IN TOMORROW AND FRIDAY. A
FREEZE WARNING IS IN EFFECT TONIGHT IN THE CENTRAL VALLEYS AND
DELTA. AS SHOWERS SPREAD FROM NORTH TO SOUTH TOMORROW...THIS VERY
COLD AIR WILL STILL BE IN PLACE. LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS
ARE POSSIBLE FROM SACRAMENTO TO STOCKTON IN THE LATE MORNING. LITTLE
OR NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED. TEMPERATURES WILL STRUGGLE TO GET OUT OF THE
40S TOMORROW...WITH BLUSTERY SOUTH WIND GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.
IN THE MOUNTAINS...SNOW LEVELS WILL RANGE FROM 500 TO 1000 FEET
IN THE NORTHERN FOOTHILLS TO 1500 FEET ALONG INTERSTATE 80. THIS
STORM WILL NOT PRODUCE AS MUCH SNOW AS THE STORM THAT MOVED
THROUGH LAST WEEKEND.
SKIES WILL CLEAR FRIDAY NIGHT...WHICH MAY BE THE COLDEST NIGHT IN
THIS STRETCH OF BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES. THE NEXT STORM SYSTEM
WILL SPREAD MORE VALLEY RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW ACROSS THE REGION
SATURDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY. THIS STORM WILL ALSO HAVE SNOW LEVELS
AS LOW AS 1000 TO 1500 FEET...AND GUSTY WINDS WILL CREATE THE HAZARDS
OF BLOWING SNOW AND COLD WIND CHILLS.
A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THE WEATHER PATTERN APPEARS TO BE SHAPING
UP BY CHRISTMAS EVE. THE PACIFIC JETSTREAM WILL SHIFT FARTHER
SOUTH...TAPPING INTO SUB-TROPICAL MOISTURE. SNOW LEVELS WILL RISE
TO 6000 TO 7000 FEET AS A CONTINUOUS STREAM OF PACIFIC MOISTURE
SLAMS INTO NORTHERN AND CENTRAL CALIFORNIA. THIS MAY CONTINUE FROM
AROUND CHRISTMAS RIGHT THROUGH THE NEW YEAR.
AS THIS PATTERN CHANGE IS STILL A WEEK AWAY...THERE IS SOME FORECAST
UNCERTAINTY REGARDING THE STRENGTH AND TIMING OF INDIVIDUAL STORM
SYSTEMS. HOWEVER...THERE IS INCREASING CONFIDENCE THAT A PERIOD OF
WARMER...VERY WET AND WINDY WEATHER WILL DEVELOP. IF THIS
OCCURS THERE WOULD BE A THREAT OF URBAN AND SMALL STREAM
FLOODING...AS WELL AS MUD SLIDES AND DEBRIS FLOWS OVER BURN SCARS
FROM FIRES THIS PAST SUMMER.

As promised, the Kirkwood (12/17) Conditions Update...
Weather: Typical bluebird day! Lots of freshies w/o a single cloud in the sky! The winds up top were gustier than expected.
Lifts: Chairs 5, 6, 10 & 11 open. ZERO beginner-only lifts available.
Groomers: packed powder w/ no icy spots & no rocks or dirt exposed
Off-Piste: tons of fresh powder everywhere!
Other Tips: As advised in their snow report, LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP!!! While the storm offered close to 5 feet of new snow, all of it is the light & dry variety, so it is essentailly "bottomless." The danger for just-under-your-board(skis) obstacles is HIGH! Also, the temps are well below freezing, so be prepared w/ layers.

I live in the east bay. Man I hate girls seriously. My best friend and I ride together a lot. Basically we've had passes to the wood for the last 5 years and go as much as possible. Well even tho we can stay at a cabin and combined with the fact snowboarding is one of his favorite things, he won't go................because his girlfriend will get jealous..................because she has to work...............and be at work anyways..........
whipped as **** or what?
