Anyway, what are you playing? tourney style, limit?
I was originally going to try and have the first event at my house, but it's currently being remodeled and is A MESS. I don't think we need any fancy digs.....just someone's living, dining, or family room. Depending on how many participants sign on, I can get some extra card tables & chairs.

Btw, to keep it friendly (at least at first) we should probably play limit style and set an AGREED UPON time limit. I think tourney style gets too confusing/intimidating for new players.

I agree to keep it friendly. Gambling can really get nasty and destroy friends and family. Imagine that if a little picture can cause all that drama here a friendly game of poker can turn into something nasty.

there are pros/cons to tourney or limit.

I don't think it's fair to play Blackjack because as most of you know, the "house/bank" usually wins. There's no fair way to determine how long the bank has to play either.

I don't mind Blackjack, but IMO, poker, esp. Hold 'Em is much more fun & interactive game.

This would be fun since I'd like to learn how to play Texas hold 'em style w/o the fear of losing money in the process. After Feb. 7th is good for me!

Texas hold em is alot of fun since there more options than normal poker. If you have a chance, watch "Celebrity Poker" on Bravo sometime.

I would play, but I can't make it every week. I say you just need to set a weekly thing up and see who makes it.
